Financial Markets Scholarship
The Vladimir Jelisavcic Financial Markets Scholarship and Internship
for NYU Stern Undergraduate Students


The Vladimir Jelisavcic Financial Markets Scholarship, in the amount of $15,000 annually, will be awarded to a student who demonstrates talent for markets and wishes to pursue a bachelor's degree at NYU Stern School of Business.  In addition to financial support, chosen students will be offered the opportunity of an internship at the sponsor’s company, The Longacre Fund Management, LLC.  The scholarship was established to help a student pay for their education.

Responsibilities will include building and maintaining financial models, analyzing company financials, speaking with companies and working with Porfolio Managers and Senior Analysts to make investment decisions. Candidates should demonstrate: a) strong qualitative, quantitative and communication skills; and b) strong interest in financial markets.  Timing and hours to be determined based on feasibility for student and Longacre, but will take place during the school year that the award is granted. 


ELIGIBILITY
The scholarship will be awarded annually, beginning in Fall 2010 for the 2010-2011 school year and will be paid directly to NYU following the typical tuition payment schedule.


APPLICATION 
To be considered for the award, applicant packets must be received by August 10 and include all of the following items:
1. Two letters of recommendation. Recommendations may come from advisers, friends, faculty members, teachers, professors or employers. 
2. An original 250 - 500 word essay explaining why the applicant deserves the scholarship and why they are interested in Financial Markets.

SELECTION
Five applicants will be selected for interviews during the month of August, and one winner will be chosen when interviews are complete.  Scholarships are awarded annually on the basis of ability and potential.
